1. Do you take clients outside of New Mexico?
We certainly do. We currently have clients in California, Michigan, London, Ontario, Canada, as well as New Mexico
2. What do you feel is your biggest challenge as a consultant?
Our biggest challenge is to assist the client in understanding that what is perceived as the problem, in fact may be a small part of a larger issue. The solution may include expanding the scope of the work and assessing a larger part of the system to facilitate a more satisfactory solution.
The second biggest challenge, and it is related to the one above, is to get the executive team to understand and support the reality that most improvements start with them. Without their full commitment to finding solutions and then making the changes, the situations will not improve.

3. What types of clients do you prefer?
We have no particular type of client. Because we want to become a part of your team, we feel it is important that not only do you interview us, but that we interview you. If either of us do not feel it is a "fit" we will assist you in finding a consultant that does fit your organization.
4. What types of projects have you worked on?
In the absence of a company leader, CEO, Executive Director, etc. we have taken on that role. There have been occasions when we filled the role only until the search committee could find a person to fill the vacancy. At other times we took on the role with instructions to assess the organization and make recommendations as to what the next steps may be.
We have also functioned as project managers. Taking care of a one time, yet important task that regular staff has not had time to do. For example, write policy manuals, assess departments for efficiency and effectiveness, or research new venders or products that would assist the client in meeting company goals. We have conducted focus groups and employee and client surveys then authored recommendations based on information gained from the surveys.

5. You state on your home page that you become a part of your client's team, that you have a roll-up your sleeves and work with the team philosophy. Just what does that mean?
Great
question! We do not believe in just coming in, walking around and
handing out advice. We want to work with our clients, we want to
talk to the employees, the client's customers, if applicable, and to
the management staff. Once we get to know the client then we
determine what we can do to assist the client in reaching the
company's goals or to help solve the problem.
We believe, in most cases, the employees and customers are not the problem. The problem is usually in the process of getting the job done and the best way to look at different methods is to do the old method first.
Therefore, we roll-up our sleeves and work side by side with the client and employees. We look for clarity and consistency in the policies, we review policies for compliance, that is compliance with the organization's policies, with contracts or with state and federal regulations. Sometimes we find that the processes just need updating at other times we find the process needs to be re-structured completely. Therefore, our suggestions come from having an understanding of the client's business and from being a part of the team.
